The stories in this collection were interesting enough but the maverick and often unbelievable actions of the titular protagonist got a bit predictable and annoying latterly. As did the way the police were constantly portrayed as a bunch of lazy, racist, sexist oafs. It all There's a pace to the books that carried me through the first few, the plotlines are reasonably well handled between evil doer and various other characters, but the plot is basically the same each time. The personalities are two dimensional and not believable; you get told Kindle Edition Enjoyed these stories even if I worried for Kate when she went off doing her own thing Kindle Edition

Over the side used too many times. Old fashioned look!!! Arrrgh sooo annoying constantly used. Constant deogratry comments by many bosses in the first two books. Change the theme!!! annoying and monotonous how Kate never tells anyone or leaves a note I Have really enjoyed this set of books good strong characters and stories well told by a very good writer Time after time Kate is in mortal danger, often through her own carelessness, but comes through in the end giving the reader a massive sigh of relief. Yes the plots are far fetched, but nevertheless entertaining, with the added comfort of a happy ending and Kate surviving Manageable characters.. Not a place to buy a house, makes Midsommer Murders look like a garden party. Downside is the maverick with the repeated error which was always used to leave her exposed. Look I enjoyed all seven books but did get a bit pissed off with final acts Kindle Edition Loved every book, kept me engrossed throughout.Police roles and charactersfully relatable having worked in the service 26yrs.Well done, author.
