Eat, Live, Thrive Diet: A Lifestyle Plan to Rev Up Your Midlife Metabolism By Danna Demetre, Robyn Thomson

Eat,

I am a woman of 54 years old. I have started the Eat,live ,thrive lifestyle. I am hooked. This book is an amazing guide to living your best life, feeling fantastic, brighter skin, thicker ,fuller hair, and an overall sense of well being
I have energy and I have become chemical free with no processed foods and I am elated. I cannot recommend this book enough if I could I’d give it to everyone I know. Even young people can benefit from this book and elderly people too. It helps you create a quality lifestyle !!! Danna and Robin are the best coaches ever. If you’re ready for a life change get this book it’ll rock your world !!!
Easy to follow recipes, and a great way to lose weight when you’ve had a struggle losing weight before. Eat, Live, Thrive Diet: A Lifestyle Plan to Rev Up Your Midlife Metabolism Not in any of the multitude of reviews and summaries did anyone mention that the authors had a very strong Christian faith. While that is nothing bad in and of itself, for me personally, I don't need any religion interfering with my quest to learn about nutrition. I NEVER would have bought this book had I known the authors had woven their religious beliefs into a book about nutrition. So frustrating. Kindle Don't we all desire and need do overs? We have reset buttons on our computers, cell phones, routers, etc.. We love to make New Year's resolutions. There are things we did in our past that we wish we could do differently. Well, the Eat Live Thrive Diet book is just the reset button that this (now older) body needed! My eating habits were starting to get out of control and being in my 50s, it caught up with me very quickly! It not only showed in my tight and uncomfortable clothes, but it also showed up in my blood work and mental (not so) well being!

Enter: Danna and Robyn's book!

One biggie that I like is not feeling deprived!! The recommended food during the Elimination Phase (I chose to do Level 3) is very satisfying; the recipes are super good, too! The elimination of sugars and grains really gave my body the break it so desperately needed; without a doubt, the demeanor under my own skin is now calm and relaxed!! I am currently in the Discovery Phase, but quite honestly, I felt like I could have stayed on the Elimination Phase forever it showed me that choosing wisely means I don't have to feel deprived! Yes, I've been losing weight as well as inches, but I have also lost the near addictive cravings that were controlling my life an even healthier indication of how well this plan works!

Do you wish your body had a reset button? Well, I have good news for you! The plan in this book is just that! In just a few days you can be on your way to feeling better than you probably have in years, if not decades!! Enjoy thriving!

PS Thank you, Danna and Robyn, for taking SO much time to put this much needed plan together for all of us! :) English For years I struggled with weight loss and finding a plan that will work for the long run. I tried everything and nothing worked or I bounced right back to my old weight. The Eat Live Thrive Diet is that plan! The book is an easy read that can be done a chapter or section at a time and not all at once. It discusses lifestyle changes that are flexible and sustainable. The recipes are excellent, easy to make, taste great and help curb your cravings for sugar, which I needed. The book shows you how to change yourself from the inside out. Danna and Robyn’ experience, knowledge and insight is invaluable. Highly recommend! Eat, Live, Thrive Diet: A Lifestyle Plan to Rev Up Your Midlife Metabolism Holy cow, I had great success with this book!!! I’ve been quarantining at home since March and I thought I was eating really well but I hadn’t lost any weight. And I didn’t understand it. I was doing weight watchers, I was eating all natural foods, not too many grains. What was I doing wrong? Was it the glass of wine I had every night to get through distance learning with two children and having a full time career? This book sat in a pile for about a year (the metabolism over 40 made me buy it, the unexpected christian angle made me a little uncomfortable as a secular Jew) and I was about to throw it away as I was cleaning out the apartment when I said, you know what I’ll give it a shot. Let me strip everything out of my diet and build it back up. So I read it and while it is was extremely strict I’m OK with that, I’m good at following strict diets and I understand a lot about nutrition. It’s not super prescriptive, so for people who aren’t used to following diets I could see how you’d have a lot of questions, but I got the gist of it pretty easily. The religious commentary wasn’t so pervasive in the end. I lost almost 10 pounds in the first phase. I mean this is 10 pounds I’ve been trying to lose for eight years and I lost it in two weeks. And have kept it off for two months. I cannot explain what a big thing this was. I weigh less now than I have in the eight years since I had my second child. The arthritis in my thumb is gone and the ganglion cyst in my wrist that I’ve had for years has been significantly reduced! I also don’t have the acid feeling in my stomach all the time. I follow the plan precisely. I gave up caffeine the first two weeks (which gave me an excruciating headache on the first day) and I put my head down and (had faith!) and just did it. I even did the 12/12 fasting and was able to get 15/9 or even 16/8 these days with just coffee in the morning. I am now 2 months in and have lost around 12 15. The one issue is constipation I am trying to figure out because that wasn’t an issue before. I made a bunch of the recipes, which are really good and the key to getting through the first two weeks. Chocolate bliss and berry compote being my go tos. They need a recipe book! I definitely craved wine during the first two weeks, I went from having a glass of wine every night to relax, to no wine for six weeks to now maybe one glass a week with no problem. And no weight gain. I don’t start thinking about wine at 11 o’clock in the morning any (given during COVID you really don’t know what time it is anyway). Anyway I feel so even, I have no cravings, I feel so good that I really really will work to stick to this for many years and hope I can lose another 30 pounds. So while I have 83 diet books on my shelf and have been doing weight watchers since I was 15 I have to say for this time in my life as a woman over 50 with a full time career and two children it has worked for me. I’d say possibly a really big key to my success is that I now weigh myself every day, so if I gain a pound or two in water weight I adjust and then lose it the next day. For years I was weighing myself once a week or not weighing myself at all, and I realize that that doesn’t work for me. So I really, really, really recommend this book. For losing weight and overall health benefits. It is sane and doable. Good luck you can do it! English

Great book. Full of great advice. This has really helped me understand the changes I’m going through and equipped me with the tools and techniques I need to come be fabulous. I am eating, living and thriving. I can’t recommend it highly enough This plan has changed my life! I am down 40 pounds so far and I feel fantastic! I have changed my negative self talk and am getting and active. I want to be strong and healthy. Danna and Robyn are the best! This book is full of important info and a plan you can follow for life! Danna Demetre, Robyn Thomson 30 pages in and so far it's filled with bible verses & religious references. Other than that, good info so far on metabolism & diet, but nothing super surprising or new. Honestly not sure if I will keep it if it starts telling me that God is responsible for my health, so I hope the religious parts are few & far between. Time will tell, I'm not even 1/4 way into it. I will update in the next few weeks. Too much god. I wanted a diet/lifestyle book not a sermon! I don't want to he preached to! The book description is misleading. There is no god.
