This book in not easy and I have been playing professionally for over 40 years. But, that's a good thing. I have considered myself a Jazz Drummer for most of my pro career and I rediscovered Tower of Power about 10 years ago. Due to the lack of work around the Twin Cities Kindle, Paperback I love the beats and teachings, but the copy I recieved has permutation studies that differ from my instructors copy(that he’s had for many years) he is one of the states best instructors and he says he has never seen that happen haha. I was hoping for a chance to 0739019120 This is a great book that teaches skills that can be applied to many other drum books. David teaches how to develop permutations of a groove. It you have a drum groove with eight notes, if you shift the notes to the right once, you have a new groove called a permutation Beyond the stated and obvious benefits of studying the exercises from this book, there are collateral benefits as well. I have found three weeks into faithfully practicing these exercises, that my time feel has gotten cemented. I have always had good time but my pocket has 64 pages Great book for learning to play with subtlety, dynamics and creativity on the kit. A great book! Totally changed my drumming approach for how to use the hihats correctly,It totally improve my technique on the set as well.It I a must have for any drummer. 0739019120 I got this book about six months ago and it sat there until yesterday because I had ordered multiple books at that time. Boy was that the wrong choice. I started working out of it yesterday and I’m excited about the possibilities that have been opened to me in just the Future Sounds: A Book of Contemporary Drumset Concepts, Book Online Audio This has been a really challenging set of grooves and exercises so far. My only regret is buying the electronic version. I did it for the convenience of using my iPad, which I attach to my hi hat stand. However, you don't get the CD with the grooves recorded that way, so 0739019120
